An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Physiotherapist specializing in musculoskeletal (MSK) care at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. This new position is part of the launch of a new Ultrasound Service embedded within the single point of access for MSK services in the Bexley Borough.
The post holder will provide consultancy and engage in the four pillars of advanced practice: clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research, thereby enhancing system-wide expertise. Candidates must meet the requirements outlined in the Centre for Advancing Practice framework for consultant-level practice.
This role is ideal for individuals with extensive clinical and leadership experience at an 8a level seeking further development, or for those already working at a consultant physiotherapy level looking for a new challenge.
We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated and committed MSK Consultant Physiotherapist to join the Bexley MSK Service at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, and welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds and support flexible and agile working arrangements.
Bexley MSK is highly valued within Oxleas, and the successful candidate can expect an inclusive and supportive context within which to develop your career.
Main duties of the job
Oxleas have an established and highly regarded musculoskeletal (MSK) service for Bexley ICB, and in partnership with Kings College Hospital. We have taken this excellent work forward in a new alliance partnership working with the ICB and local secondary care providers. The service provides rapid triage, assessment and treatment for Bexley residents with MSK conditions and MSK rehabilitation needs, linking with other services to ensure the right treatment is delivered in the right place and time.
The post holder will join a multidisciplinary pain team that includes Podiatrists, Occupational Therapist Hand Therapists, Pain Psychologists, Advanced Practice Physiotherapists, Pain Management Physiotherapists, First Contract Practitioners, Service Manager and Administrative staff. The post involves close working with MDT members to provide holistic care to treat MSK pain in a community setting so strong communication and team-working skills are essential.
The successful candidate will lead on continued development of the new Bexley MSK Ultrasound service, alongside more generalised clinical leadership within Bexley MSK providing expert consultant level knowledge on the assessment and rehabilitation of MSK patients across the service, challenging traditional models of care & leading innovation in practice.
