An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse to join the senior nursing team on Lister 1 as a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse. Our team would welcome a forward thinking, dynamic Nurse Leader who is committed to ensuring our patients receive only the very best in evidence based nursing care. The successful candidate will display excellent leadership and communication skills and be able to confidently liaise with all partners to ensure the safe, timely care of our patients.

Experience within oncology is an essential prerequisite for this post and having a strong oncology foundation will provide a solid base on which you can further develop your leadership skills.

Main duties of the job

Lister 1 is an established area, that see's on average 1500 patients per month. Elective oncology and urology patients attend Lister 1 for procedures and infusions including immunotherapies, chemotherapies, interventional radiology procedures, blood transfusions, and central line care to name a few.

We are looking to recruit someone who has had recent Oncology experience, with proven leadership skills and is competent to administer SACT.

As part of the senior nurse team you will provide support to team members and lead by example by working clinically administering SACT to ensure we provide a high quality, progressive and effective service to all our patients.

You will be given the chance to undertake additional training in regard's to authorising Chemotherapy.

This is a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills and experience of the Band 6 role. You will be part of a very busy, nurse-led team working in an out-patient area.

We provide cancer treatment with both curative and palliative intents for a wide range of malignant diseases. Patients may receive: Chemotherapy, Biological and Immunotherapies at the unit. We also provide care for patients attending interventional radiology pre and post procedure, along with multiple infusions to name a few.
