Hertfordshire Community Trust are looking for a motivated, positive thinking Paediatric Audiology service lead to join our team. This is a fixed term 9 months contract to cover maternity leave with a potential to extend.
The Post holder will lead and manage the Children's Hearing service in line with the Trust's strategic direction, ensuring the delivery of high value, patient centred, responsive and efficient patient care. The successful candidate will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and lead the audiology team to deliver the strategic development of this very special service. Job role is split between management and clinical practice.
Previous experience in Leadership and management is essential.
You will have a BSc/MSc in Audiology (or equivalent) and will also be RCCP/HCPC registered. We encourage CPD and further training will be provided as per the post holder's needs and service needs.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
Undertake all hearing aid work- this involves comprehensive rehabilitative care, diagnostic assessments of hearing, and care for all paediatric aid users including patients with needs and children of all ages.
Carry out diagnostic electrophysiological testing in babies referred by the newborn hearing screening team or neonatal unit. For example, performing tone-burst/Chirps, click, bone conduction and cochlea microphonic electrophysiological ABR, ASSR and OAEs testing.
Ensure a high standard of child and family centred service delivery is achieved and maintained across the service and all contracts.
Provide managerial and clinical leadership to staff within areas of responsibility, ensuring implementation of and compliance with policies and procedures including safe staffing.
Ensure locality and speciality services are delivered in a highly professional and clinically safe manner, in conjunction with the business unit support team and in accordance with local and national policies and procedures, including compliance with Care Quality Commission standards.

Qualifications
Essential
- MSc in Audiological Science or equivalent OR.
- MSc level of expertise in a specialist area of audiology with BSc in Audiology or equivalent qualification.
- Registered as Clinical Physiologist in Audiology (RCCP) OR Clinical Scientist in Audiology (HCPC).
- STP, HTS in paediatrics, CAC, or equivalent experience
- Attendance of the Newborn ABR course.
- Leadership qualification or training
- Attendance of the NHSP sharing the news
