Are you an experienced Occupational therapist, who is ready to take on a specialist OT role in a multi-disciplinary team? Are you ready for the next step in your career in mental health? If so, you should apply for our senior role in the new Specialist Older Adults Mental Health (SOAMHS) Service.
Exciting opportunities have arisen following a review of provision of mental health services for older people at West London NHS Trust. We are in the fortunate position of transforming and expanding our service to meet the needs of older people with mild to severe mental health needs. We are looking for dynamic innovative staff to be part of a team that will work therapeutically to support older patients in their mental health recovery in the community.
We are recruiting one senior Band 6 Occupational therapist (OT) and this post is based at Hammersmith and Fulham catchment area. Assessments and intervention are delivered at patients home therefore flexibility is important. Hammersmith has an excellent public transport links therefore having a car or driving is not essential. Most of our clinicians use the bus on visits. All expenses will be refunded in a monthly basis.

Main duties of the job
The post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Occupational therapist to build upon and advance their skills and expertise. The focus of the service will be to ensure that patients receive assessment and therapeutic intervention to maximise their independence, safety and wellbeing. The interventions will include education, individual work and group work and will involve working closely with patients, carers, statutory and voluntary agencies, within a multi-disciplinary team. They will hold their own complex caseload of patients.
The post holder will be based at St Vincent's - Hammersmith and Fulham Community Team and they will be undertaking home visits, meetings at the team base and other community sites.
