The Pembridge Specialist Palliative Care team practice holistic palliative care taking a multi-disciplinary approach to physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients and their families. We currently offer community support, onsite day services and out patients

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced massage therapist to join the team.

The role is based at Pembridge Hospice, St Charles Centre for Health and Wellbeing. The post holder will work in our Wellbeing Service and provide massage on site and in patients homes . The therapist is expected to have skills enabling her/him to be a source of expertise and advice for hospice staff, relatives and patients and contribute to the development of a holistic service.

Main duties of the job

Providing face to face and virtual massage and aromatherapy services, for service users both on site and in the community (according to the eligibility criteria)

To offer therapy safely and appropriately using sound clinical judgment and assessment skills, whilst adhering to the Pembridge Palliative Care Service Standards

To liaise closely with patients and their carers about the therapy offered.

To monitor and review the effectiveness of the therapy given and modify it as necessary.

To ensure that patients are referred to other members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team as appropriate.

To collaborate and liaise with medical colleagues and other health care professionals within Pembridge service to achieve maximum advantage from the therapeutic intervention.

To liaise with other members of the Massage team as regards the provision of the service and contribute to innovations and developments in service provision.

• International Therapy Examination Council ITEC Diploma (or equivalent)
