A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised Director of Strategy, Portfolio & Governance to join the Group Digital Services Team at Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT).

We are looking for a skilled, enthusiastic, and dedicated member of staff with a delivery focus who can align to our values and behaviors. You will be delivering exciting change initiatives, service improvements and defined projects across our portfolio of work, supporting the achievement of the MFT Digital Strategy and wider organizational strategies and digital aspirations.

You will form part of a growing, motivated, and supportive team and will be well placed to develop your skills and knowledge.

Main duties of the job

This is a busy and rewarding role in a team which supports the transformation of services through the utilisation of technology in accordance with trust-wide business requirements. Your application must be able to demonstrate that you have a sound understanding of governance, business change, project and programme delivery, have strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills, advanced IT skills understanding and working knowledge of digital change initiatives and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Education to a minimum of Masters Degree level or equivalent post graduate qualification or equivalent senior level experience


Desirable

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification specifically in a discipline directly related to post


Training

Essential

  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development, including specialist training


Desirable

  • Associate or Fellow membership of professional bodies pertinent to post e.g. BCS, Assist
  • Regular participation and leadership in industry forums and events


Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience of working and contributing at a very senior level within an NHS Digital Services Service environment in a similarly complex organisation
  • Demonstrable ability to operate and influence at the strategic board level of a complex organisation
  • Direct experience of strategic and budgetary planning and financial management and controls


Desirable

  • Ability to represent the GCIO, and Trust competently in strategic-level discussions with industry leaders, and/or legal or court situations if required
