We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated compassionate Nurse to join our team at Ardenleigh as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner for the Outreach provision and Inpatient Acute Pathway for Women in secure care.

The successful candidate will provide specialist, trauma informed, therapeutic input into the treatment pathway for women in secure care and provide specialist advice, supervision, training and consultation through the outreach provision to help prevent avoidable admissions and support timelier discharges. The post holder will provide specialist support to services external to Ardenleigh, often non-secure and community-based services, in risk management and pathway planning supporting teams to develop confidence and resilience when working with these individuals. The post holder will also support service users transitioning from secure care, by providing support, where required, to placement providers and clinical teams during the transition period and in the first few months following discharge.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide specialist therapeutic input into the Women's Secure Blended Service, to support the ongoing development of the acute pathways which focus on stabilisation of service users presenting with high-risk behaviours. This pathway includes low level psychological and occupational therapeutic groups, training programmes for ward staff and the embedding of service initiatives to support the formulation and management of risk behaviours. The successful candidate will support the on-going education, training, supervision and support of inpatient staff to develop the workforce's expertise and confidence in working with high-risk behaviours, mental health and personality disorders. It is anticipated that the post holder will also provide specialist, evidence-based, psychological interventions as required to services users to support their ongoing recovery.
