Somerset Wiltshire Avon and Gloucestershire (SWAG) Cancer Alliance is recruiting a fixed-term 18 months project support coordinator to successfully deliver the SWAG Cancer Alliance Workforce Strategy including the Cancer and Domestic Abuse (DA) workforce training project across SWAG. The role is a great opportunity for someone who has existing expertise in this field and wishes to be involved in supporting and sustaining the cancer workforce to enhance the experience of people with cancer.

Interviews for this role will take place in person on Thursday 30th January in Bristol

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for enabling the smooth running of a diverse range of projects/programmes by supporting Project/Programme Lead through the operation of project management process, and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities on their behalf.

You will have a passion for learning, and proven project management skills. A genuine interest in helping others develop, and working collaboratively with others in the team and wider organisations is vital.

SWAG CA is hosted by North Bristol NHS Trust for the purposes of formal employment and the provision of back-office support to the Cancer Alliance.

The post holder will be required to travel across the South West.

Job responsibilities

Project Management

Support the planning and delivery of the SWAG Workforce Strategy and Cancer and Domestic Abuse (DA) Workforce Training project, working with the SWAG ACCEND Lead and DA Trainer and other key stakeholders across the programme area to ensure success.

Responsible for developing and managing project tracking, control and reporting arrangements ensuring that project/programmes objectives can be achieved.

Responsible for organising key project meeting, engagement and workshop sessions, booking venues, sending invites, taking minutes.

Attending and/or facilitating meetings where agreed and present on progress, ensuring that all actions are logged and followed up as required.

Manage programme schedule and resource dependencies and conflict between initiatives.

Support the Project/Programme lead to ensure effective project/programme(s) communications plans are developed and delivered.

Promote effective communication and stakeholder management, both internally and externally by acting as the local point for project/programme responses to requests for information and assisting with the maintenance of the stakeholder log.

Essential

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in supporting programmes/projects.
  • Further training in recognised project management/service improvement qualification or experience of project management/service improvement acquired through at least 2 years of experience.
  • Proven experience of project management, key stakeholder engagement and communications across organisational boundaries.
  • Proven experience of maintaining project systems, including updating software, accessing and managing content and retrieving data.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately from or diverse audiences.
  • Skills for nurturing key relationships and maintaining networks.


Desirable

  • Knowledge and proven track record of delivery / facilitation of learning and development programmes across clinical and non-clinical teams and organisational boundaries.
