It is an exciting time to be a nurse at Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, Rotherham Hospital. We have a permanent part time position.

As Sister / Charge Nurse you will help lead and manage the department so that high quality, evidence based nursing care is delivered to patients and their carers.

You will be an integral member of our team who maintain the emergency access standards.You must be committed to providing high quality nursing care you will provide strong leadership and mentorship to junior staff and help support the senior team.

You will be a highly visible leader and be experienced as a professional role model. In working in a progressively changing environment you will promote the Trusts values and be committed to high standards of service delivery.

We have a dedicated Clinical Educator within our service to support your professional development.

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable appropriate post registration experience
  • Demonstrable experience of working in an emergency department environment covering both triage and resuscitation
  • Within the relevant area


Desirable

  • Recruitment and selection experience


Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrates knowledge of policies, practices and procedures e.g. NHS national policies, standards, requirements and directions that relate to patient care

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current level one NMC registration Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Mentorship qualification (or willingness to work towards)
  • Triage trained (with evidence)
  • Advanced Life Support (valid)
  • Level 1 Trauma Training


Desirable

  • Paediatric Life Support
  • European Paediatric Advanced Life Support (EPALS) or equivalent
  • Level 2 Trauma Training (TNCC or equivalent)
