An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a Senior Information Manager to join our Finance Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. This role will support the Head of ICC (Income, Contracting, and Costing)

Main duties of the job

The Senior Information Manager will work with the Head of ICC Information to deliver of a wide range of contractual arrangements as set out in the NHS Standard Contract with NHS commissioning organisations. This includes negotiating, monitoring, reporting and billing of contracts with an annual value of c£540 million on behalf of the Trust.

To continuously improve our team, skills, infrastructure, processes, working relationships and the service we offer and to deliver business intelligence support to Collaboratives, benchmarking, strategic and operational priorities and annual planning.

The Senior Information Manager will have specific responsibility for the leadership, development and delivery of high-quality finance data and provision to inform the decision making ability of staff across the organisation.

The Senior Information Manager will work closely with a wide range of other colleagues to ensure that the finance information meets the needs of the users including, but not limited to, the provision of clinical data, statutory returns and mandates, improvement measures and real-time dashboards.

The post holder will operate with a high degree of autonomy and will be expected to manage their own workload, priorities, milestones and deadlines.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Experience of managing teams and / or providing professional leadership to colleagues.
  • Expert Knowledge of NHS Datasets and the Data Dictionary.
  • Substantial experience of negotiating and performance management of highly complex service level agreements.
  • Detailed knowledge of the NHS commissioning / contracting environment
  • Expert understanding of the current NHS policies and strategies
  • Expert knowledge of the national tariff framework.

  • Excellent verbal, written, numeric reasoning and presentation skills
  • Strong SQL, Excel and Qlikview skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret highly complex data and make sound decisions based upon this review
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation and communication skills and ability to build relationships
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines, adjusting strategies as appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance managers
  • Ability to present complex issues and data both internally and externally in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to prepare and chair effective meetings.
  • Experience of working with senior managers and clinicians in an NHS setting.
  • Strong ability to analyse highly sensitive data. And deliver the desired outcomes.
  • Ability to lead, manage, support and motivate a team by setting clear objectives
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work under pressure
  • Strong personal resilience


Desirable

  • A good understanding of programming language such as Python or R.
