We are seeking an experienced midwife with a passion for high quality services for women and families and with a very keen interest in providing excellent patient care in all stages of pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

The post holder will have the ability to lead and inspire their team towards a very clear vision of how care will always be delivered within the maternity unit. They will be an excellent communicator and able to liaise effectively with colleagues from other parts of the service and other disciplines.

The enthusiasm and leadership drive required, will mean that you can effectively lead the clinical team to ensuring that the individual woman and her family have the best possible care experience.

Above all we are looking for someone who can demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, who shares our vision of providing woman centred care and can work with the leadership team to maintain and further develop the high standards we are proud of, whilst providing support to peer and junior colleagues and other members of the multidisciplinary team. We are passionate about delivering safe, high quality services to our women and their families.

This opportunity is for a Labour Ward Coordinator.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management and clinical leadership of the midwifery services within the labour ward and the maternity unit. You will be expected to lead a team, enrich the working culture, organise and lead the team in the workload of labour ward whilst ensuring high quality, safe patient care by assessment of patient need and staff skill mix, overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate care.
