Major transformation programme seeks enthusiastic, committed individuals to join its dedicated EPR team

We are recruiting a new team to work on our exciting new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme.

Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is bringing in a new Electronic Patient Record. This is major transformation programme that will affect almost all Trust employees, supporting them to provide better quality care for our patients and families.

We currently have a vacancy for the position of EPR Systems Trainer (B5) for Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital.

The EPR will be a big change for all our patient-facing teams, so we are looking for people with the energy, passion and resilience to manage the complexities and high risks involved to help us deliver this critical programme of work.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a trainer within the EPR (Electronic Patient Record) Training Team and will deliver training as part of the EPR system implementation which will be led by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Projects Team at BWC. This will include developing and delivering training packages and contributing to business change developments, benefits realisation and implementation support.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good general education with a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject/area (e.g. Training, I.T. etc.)


Desirable

  • Substantial specialist knowledge and expertise in a relevant area (e.g. training, clinical experience, working with clinical systems etc.)
  • Qualification relevant to this position, e.g. in training, teaching (TAP, PGCE et


KNOWLEDGE & NATURE OF EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Experience in delivering systems training
  • Previous participation in systems implementation or training development projects
  • Good understanding of systems training approaches and techniques
  • Appreciation of data protection and confidentiality issues


Desirable

  • Understanding of the principles of project management
  • Experience in developing e learning courses
  • Experience of computer systems administration
  • Experience in implementing networked departmental or site-wide information systems
  • Experience working with large person-based information systems
  • Understanding of the NHS environment


PROFESSIONAL / MANAGERIAL / SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Competent computer user with good keyboard skills
  • Knowledge and practical use of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications


Desirable

  • Clinical experience in a health care environment
  • Microsoft Office Specialist qualification or equivalent.
