Exciting opportunities have arisen for a suitably qualified Speech and Language Therapists to join the forward thinking and super friendly Children's Speech and Language Therapy Teams in the Pennine locality. We cover the Burnley and Pendle, Blackburn with Darwen and Hyndburn Ribble Valley Rossendale areas of Lancashire.
Main duties of the job
We are committed to improving the communication skills of children and young people, while supporting carers and other professionals to increase their ability to understand and support children with communication needs. The 3 Teams consist of SLTs and OTs working together.
The Children's Speech & Language Therapy teams provide high quality services to children with speech, language and communication difficulties across the locality. We work in a variety of locations, including clinics, children's own homes, nurseries and schools. We work closely with families and with colleagues in health, education and social care and you must have excellent communication skills to support these relationships
About us
You must be enthusiastic and motivated and have experience of working with children with diverse speech, language and communication needs.An interest in managing eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties is desirable but not essential.
You will manage your own time and caseload effectively and also support assistant practitioners in managing a delegated caseload. We are committed to promoting professional development in all staff and you should be enthusiastic about developing your leadership skills in service innovation. A significant supervision and support structure is in place to ensure competencies are met and specific areas of interest developed. Demonstrating a proactive approach to your own clinical and professional development and having a sound understanding of evidence based practice, is important.

- Professional Degree or equivalent in Speech & Language Therapy
- Current Professional Registration with HCPC
Knowledge

- Understanding of clinical governance framework & implications for practice, including audit and research governance
- Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools
- Knowledge of a range of therapy techniques and programmes
- Knowledge of research, evidence-based practice and current issues relating to client group
Experience
