This is an exciting new project within the VCHA programme for 6 VCHA Regional Trainer (please state the region you reside). This is an opportunity to deliver a set of training products for the NHS in England. Using your knowledge and skills to deliver high quality products will help to ensure that every member of the Armed Forces community who enters the NHS, as either a patient or member of staff, are understood, heard and their unique experiences made part of their experience. Main duties of the job

Deliver training and education for Integrated Care Systems (ICS), Integrated Care Partnerships and Boards (ICP/B), and NHS Trusts' so they are better able to understand, support and advise the Armed Forces community. This will be achieved through an understanding of the military context and the unique issues of the Service family and veterans post-service life.

Deliver a standardised Armed Forces awareness training product portfolio. This will include modules to support at executive and operational levels, Armed Forces champions, and organisation staff.

Deliver a training strategy within all ICS/ICP/Bs to improve awareness of the specific needs of the Armed Forces community to improve outcomes and experience. The mission is to remove disadvantage and unwarranted variation in delivering healthcare and employment in the NHS for the Armed Forces community.

Deliver a Train the Trainer package including a refresher training cycor all organisations operating within an NHS England defined region. Deliver this training within a named region.

Maintain, alongside a regional lead, a monitoring and reporting system of training delivered and the measurable outcomes of the training products.

Operational Management

Implement and embed of the objectives as set out in the NHS Veteran Aware training programme within the defined period.

Highlight progress and risks/issues so they are tracked and reported upon to the National Programme Director to meet governance reporting requirements.

Participate in programme progress reviews to feed into reporting mechanisms so the VCHA Steering Group may make informed decisions.

Promote a culture of working collaboratively across stakeholder groups at a national level, throughout the lifecycle of the programme.

Support the collection of key data metric requirements which support and evidence the progress and performance of the programme and its benefits.

Provide feedback for annual recommendations in the review of all internal national documentation.

Support where appropriate, the NHS Veteran Aware project delivery team to deliver the strategic aims of accreditation in all NHS England secondary and specialist NHS trusts across the seven NHS England regions.

Support in the development of training and educational business plans and to support the implementation of the VCHA strategy and terms of references.

Provide guidance and tools to support the VCHA team to work collaboratively across all projects.

Support the National Training Lead in the delivery of VCHAs strategic aims nationally.

Provide feedback for the National Training Lead for the development of the VCHAs programme and its development of projects to support the overarching vision.

Be accountable for the core VCHA aims to ensure that the Alliance supports and meets the needs of members and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Essential

• Master's degree level or equivalent qualification and/or experience in training and education delivery

Experience

Essential

• Leadership and influence skills across VSM to the most junior member of staff
• Experience of working in a health, social care, welfare, or service delivery environment
• Delivery of training products (face-to-face, virtual, eLearning, written media) or proven experience of delivering information in a consistent and high-quality manner

Knowledge

Essential

• Knowledge of commissioned services for the Armed Forces community including Op COURAGE / RESTORE / NOVA
• An understanding and knowledge of the workings of the NHS and the challenges it faces
• Awareness of the roles of key NHS stakeholders, arms-length bodies, individual providers, and commissioning organisations
