Full GMC registration with a licence to practice

CCT or equivalent

Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it

Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it

Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST

We are currently recruiting to a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist position in the Chelmsford CAMHS Team (Mid Essex), which is split between Stapleford House, Stapleford Close, Chelmsford CM2 0QX and Harkenwell Clinic, Wantz Chase, Maldon, CM9 5DN.

You will be expected to:

Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, across Mid Essex.

Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team

Work directly with young people and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals

Participate in the on-call rota frequency is currently 1:7, with a 2% of basic salary, Category B on-call supplement (pro-rata).

Support your peers and team leader and be an effective team member whilst allowing them to work with their own initiative.

Work alongside another 2wte CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrists.

Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting, and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it. Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST


Desirable

  • CCT or equivalent


Clinical Experience

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written. Familiarity with a wide range of theoretical and clinical approaches. Ability to ? Desirable

  • Clear thoughts on how to involve service users in service development and to provide a service which is experienced as being service-user friendly


Knowledge

Essential

Desirable

  • Extensive knowledge of the biological, psychological, and social determinants of mental health disorders and evidence-based management interventions
