South Somerset Community Nursing Team are looking to recruit a Band 6 Team leaders for a 12 month secondment, to manage a team of Band 5s, 4s and 3s working alongside another experienced Band 6 Team Leader.

You will be responsible for taking on a clinical caseload of complex patients.

Main duties of the job

The Band 6 role in District Nursing involves a ratio of 20% management and 80% clinical. The Band 6 does take a case load. They are also responsible for supervisions, and career conversations while managing the team and also with helping to run the hub. They are expected to work shift patterns between 8am and 10pm and while being clinical they are responsible for complex patient care and also supporting the team of staff. It can be a challenging role but also is very rewarding. You will work alongside another Band 6 and between you share duties required to support and manage the Band 5s, band 4 and Band 3s. You are overseen by a senior District Nurse Manager. We are part of a neighbourhood and work closely with Community Nursing Teams across South Somerset. We care for house bound patients within the Yeovil, Wincanton plus surrounding villages.

  • Appropriately registered with the Professional body as per post requirementsRelevant degree or equivalent qualificationEvidence of continuing professional development and to have undertaken post registration trainingLeadership/management programme or prepared to undertake a course

  • Non- Medical PrescriberCoaching and/or mentorship training.


Experience
