We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced dietitian to join our team to support Upper GI oncology and Gastro. This role has a mix of inpatient and outpatient work with the opportunity to run a Dietitian led coeliac service and support Upper GI oncology patients through the surgical pathway. The role includes line management responsibility for a band 6 Upper GI Oncology Dietitian.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic dietitian, with excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to work well as part of a well established MDT team.

Main duties of the job
You will be a member of the UHD Dietetics Department, which consists of 25+ dietitians working across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch Hospitals within a variety of specialties that include Diabetes, Paediatrics and Bariatrics. The role will involve the management and training of more junior staff and student dietitians.

- BSc or Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Advanced communication and behavioural skills training
- Relevant advanced post graduate clinical training e.g. masters level clinical training
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Leadership and management training
Desirable
- Member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA)
- Clinical supervisory skills training
Experience
Essential
- Post registration experience in a range of dietetic areas, including oncology patients and pancreatic/bowel surgery patients
- Experience of delivering training and presentations
- Experience of managing and supervising junior dietetic staff and student dietitians
- Experience of teaching and giving presentations to a group of patients
- Experience of working autonomously within an MDT taking a lead dietetic role
- Able to negotiate effectively with other disciplines
- Experience in service development, audit and clinical governance issues
