Outpatient Specialist Neurological Rehabilitation and Environmental Controls
Permanentfull-time: 37.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to work across two specialist services at the Colman Centre for Specialist Rehabilitation. We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Occupational Therapist who is keen to develop specialist skills in complex neurological rehabilitation and environmental controls. Both teams are based in Jubilee House at the Colman Centre in Norwich and provide a range of interventions within the clinic setting and in patients' homes.
Interviews will be held on 23rd January 2025.
Main duties of the job
The neurological rehabilitation role will include providing cognitive, vocational and upper limb rehabilitation to patients (aged 16 and above) who have complex needs following an acquired brain injury. You will be working as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Rehabilitation Nurses, and Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine.
The successful applicant will require excellent communication skills, an aptitude for problem-solving and be highly effective in managing a case load. They will play a key role in facilitating patient groups and be required to liaise with other agencies such as a patient's employer when supporting their return to work.
The current Norfolk and Waveney Environmental Controls Service is expanding to provide a service to patients living in Suffolk. We are, therefore, looking for someone to join the team at this exciting time in our development. The post holder will need to have an interest in technology and be eager to learn more about this ever-evolving specialism. You will work with children and adults with severe physical disabilities.
Both teams provide regular peer support and learning opportunities. Participation in external specialist interest groups is also encouraged,
It is essential that you hold a full UK driving license. Regular driving across Norfolk and Suffolk will be required.
