Main duties of the job
The post holder will join a dynamic Pharmacy Production team with the opportunity to manage and develop the service. Main duties of the roleinclude (please see job description for complete list):
o To assist the Lead Cancer Services Pharmacist in the management and development of production services both sterile and nonsterile.o To be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of all technical staff in the Production Unit and ensure services aredelivered in a safe, effective, economic and timely manner.o To be responsible for ensuring that all documentation and procedures comply with current legislation and guidelines.o Management of the technical aspects of aseptic dispensing to ensure that all products are made to the highest quality enforced by GMPand QA systems and to ensure the Production Unit is maintained in good working order and that all directives are met.

To develop, maintain and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) in collaboration with the AccountablePharmacist. To write, develop, maintain and assure implementation of policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain thecontrolled documentation system in cooperation with the Accountable Pharmacist. To ensure that all activities, documentation, and procedures within the unit meet current legislation such as GMP, GCP, Health andSafety and COSHH. To assist in all aspects of internal and external audit of the aseptic service, including audits ofcurrent practice, and development of service improvement strategies. To be responsible for the local delivery of the pharmacy education and training strategy for production staff.

- NVQ Level 3 Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent qualification
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council

- Current GCP training
- Attendance at relevant study days/courses related to sterile production

- Knowledge of principles of Good Manufacturing Practice and its application in an unlicensed aseptic unit to a high level
- Evidence of effective interpersonal skills with particular ability to liaise with multidisciplinary team members
- Ability to demonstrate self-motivation
- Ability to make decisions, organise and prioritise
- Evidence of commitment to customer care initiatives
- Computer Literacy (e.g., Microsoft Word and Outlook) and use of pharmacy computer system (JAC)
- Ability to deal with conflict/difficult situations

- Significant experience post qualification in hospital including within an aseptic service
