An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Infectious Diseases ward for a dynamic, committed, compassionate and highly enthusiastic staff nurse to join a hardworking and close-knit team in Stanhoe.
The post is for a full-time position to work 37.5 hours per week on internal rotation. Shifts consist of long days, early shifts/late shifts and night shifts.
This vacancy is for Registered Nurses with full NMC registration in the UK. If you are an internationally trained nurse that has not passed their OSCE (objective structured clinical examination) you will not be considered for this role and will be automatically rejected, so please do not apply.
Main duties of the job
Stanhoe is a 32 bedded ward separated in 12 isolation rooms managing patients with acute infections such as meningitis, CDT, Influenza, TB, food-borne infections, and tropical infections experienced by returning travellers, also chronic conditions such as HIV and 4 bays. Also, Stanhoe ward is well known for it's dedication by caring of people with learning disabilities and autismAs part of the national response for managing Highly Contagious Infectious diseases , staff are prepared and ready to care for patients with suspected and confirmed conditions such as Ebola, MERS, and other such like illnesses.
As a Registered Nurse you will work with all members of the Ward/Department clinical team and within the multi-disciplinary framework. You will maintain a high standard of patient care under thedirection of the Ward/Department Sister/Charge Nurse, taking the lead in clinical areas when competent, in the absence of a senior member of staff. At all times, you will work in accordance with the principles governed by the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) and Trust Policies.This role requires you to practice and adopt the National 6 C's which are Care, Compassion, Communication, Commitment, Competence and Courage. The 6Cs of nursing stand for the professional values and behaviours and commitment to always deliver excellent care to our patients.
You may at times, be asked to assist on Medical and Surgical wards, ED during periods of increased acuity.
