Data Science and clinical intelligence are revolutionising healthcare, offering opportunities for continuous clinical improvement as well as more personalised care. In this senior role, you will lead on the delivery and continued improvement of MFT's data management platform and services.

As weseek to improve clinical quality through digital solutions, we'll look to your expertise in designing and developing information solutions, with a particular focus on cloud and web-based data platforming. You will also lead on the specification and development of dataflows, models, automation, and reports, ensuring we deliver a first-class service to the Trust.

While a background in the NHS is welcome, this is also an opportunity for specialists from otherbackgrounds to challenge their expertise within the acute healthcare sector. Along with advancedtechnical and analytical skills, experience of designing and delivering large, enterprise-wide relationalmodelling and analytical solutions is critical. Knowledge of SQL, ETL, modelling, data science, andvisualisations platforms is essential.

Main duties of the job

This is a senior developer role, leading in the development, maintenance, and continued improvement of the Trust data management platforms and services used by Information Management and the wider organisation. You will lead on the specification and development of datasets, data flows, models, processes, and dashboards across multiple areas and clinical services to enable Information Management to deliver a first class, comprehensive and proactive service to the Trust.

You will use you expertise to deliver analytics, reporting and insights which underpin effective decision making. To be the Trust specialist on designing and developing information solutions using the latest technologies available including, data warehousing, data lakes, web-based visualisation tools, R and Python, cloud-based technologies, and statistical analysis.

The post holder will act as a project manager for developments, ensuring effective communication, customer engagement, and delivering against pre-determined outcomes. The ability to motivate others and drive ongoing delivery against objectives and other competing priorities will be essential, as well as the ability to deal at pace with changing requirements or circumstances and provide alternate recommendations to mitigate delivery or service improvement challenges.

Joining the digital service puts you at the heart of the Trusts digital enablement journey.The implementation of the Hive Electronic Patients Record (EPR), powered by EPIC, in September 2022, whichwas the biggest of its kind in the UK at that time, was the first step in realising the MFT vision of a Digital First organisation and significantly increases the Trusts capability to unleash the power of data,through its ability to capture high quality/volume acute clinical and non-clinical services data and to exploit this data to catalyse digital transformation and support improved patient care.

As a member of the digitalteamyou willdirectly support the organisation to deliver andimprove clinical quality, patient and staff experience, operational effectiveness, and research.
