The post holders for this job will thrive in a busy clinical setting, enjoy team working and be good at managing change. They will advocate for and promote the occupational lives of their patients and will be compassionate towards themselves and those they work with.

The post holder will join the therapies team who provide OT input to:
  • Chine Ward, St. Ann's (Female treatment)
  • Seavie ward, St Ann's (acute assessment unit)
  • Harbour ward, St. Ann's (Male treatment)
  • Alumhurst ward, St. Ann's (Non- Organic Older People' Mental Health)
  • Haven Ward, St. Ann's Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.

Main duties of the job

The post is based within the Therapies Team at St. Ann's which comprises OT, Physiotherapy and Exercise Instruction. The post holders will work collaboratively with the multi disciplinary team. The line manager for the post holder and the therapies team is an OT.

CPD clinical supervision and informal learning are at the heart of these posts and the professional development of the post holder will be supported and reviewed yearly through the appraisal process.
