To encourage, support and promote integrated working with all agencies within Sandwell to meet the needs of the Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) within the Borough. To work alongside the Clinical Lead to redesign and develop community health services for CYPF in accordance with national and local public health agenda. To have responsibility for the operational line management of the School Nursing team.

Main duties of the job

To support an innovative and driven team of public health nurses to make a difference in the lives of the children young people and families of Sandwell.

To manage and support staff across all roles in delivering the healthy child programme and developing innovate ways in partnership in reaching the population of Sandwell using compassion and community based approaches.

To play a key role in supporting staff health and wellbeing as well as developing staff in their ambitions and career development.

Qualifications

Essential

• Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) degree
• Appropriate management/ Leadership / Qualification / Experience
• Evidence of continued professional development
• NMC registered Nurse
• Teaching qualification e.g. 998/ SLAIP or equivalent

Community working

• Has a full driving licence
• Has access to a vehicle that can be utilised during the working day

Experience

• Extensive current experience in School Health Nursing at SCPHN level
• Extensive experience of strategic interagency partnership working.
• Evidence of experience working with children, young people and families
• Evidence of leading/managing innovation/ change in clinical practice
• Evidence of incorporating Public Health priorities into practice.
