There is an exciting opportunity for a person to join the Trust's Electronics & Medical Engineering team. The successful candidate will be involved in the routine maintenance, calibration and repair of a wide range of medical devices including infusion pumps, patient monitoring, ventilators, renal and pathology equipment, used within a modern Hospital environment, Knowledge of CCTV systems would be beneficial.
The post holder will be required to rotate to any hospital site/location to meet the demands of the service.
Applicants should be qualified to HNC level or have equivalent experience in electronics or electrical engineering and will be able to demonstrate relevant experience in an electronic/electrical engineering field.
You will need to be a team player, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to use your own initiative when required.

The Medical Engineering Department deals with a wide range of medical device maintenance and repairs. No two days are the same, you may be working on a general ward one day and an operating theatre environment the next. Job responsibilities
- The Medical Electronics Technician is responsible for the maintenance, calibration and repair of a range of medical electronic devices, some of which are complex and technologically advanced requiring an in depth knowledge of current engineering techniques.
- Carry out planned maintenance, repair, calibration and servicing of medical equipment within the hospital, community premises and patients homes.
- Acceptance test new equipment.
- Train medical and technical staff in the use of medical devices

- BEng or HNC (or equivalent) plus short courses, or equivalent training and experience.
- Current full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- ECDL or recognised IT competency qualification
- NHS Biomedical Equipment Practice Course (Btec).
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Significant experience in an electronic maintenance related discipline.
- A sound working knowledge of current analogue and digital electronics is essential.
- An appreciation of mechanical, pneumatic and electro-mechanical applications.
- A full understanding of the operation and calibration of diagnostic test equipment
Desirable
- Knowledge of NHS regulations and guidance relating to medical device maintenance.
- Previous experience working in a medical electronics maintenance field.
