Our mission inNorthamptonshire Integrated Sexual Health and HIV (NISHH)is to provide confidential, high quality, integrated sexual health care, empowering patients to make informed choices that promote good sexual health and wellbeing.
Reporting to the Lead Nurse the staff nurse will be an integral part to the day to day delivery of sexual health services in the Hub of the Integrated Sexual Health Service.
Operating in several sites within a hub and spoke model and with a proactive Outreach Team, NISHH provides services in multiple sites across the county specifically this post relates to services provided at the Northampton hub. You may be asked to work at other sites according to the needs of the service. Our clinics have a range of opening times so we can offer appointments from 8am - 8pm, Monday - Friday and some Saturday clinics.
Sexual health nursing offers job satisfaction, supporting a patient for their entire service journey. With training and relevant experience you will be able to apply for senior roles within the nursing team. NISHH is a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary team, embracing change and collaboratively working with you and others to develop the service with a real opportunity to put ideas into action. Your role will underpin many elements of the service delivery and is primarily to provide crucially important support to the more senior nursing and medical team.

Main duties of the job
Perform venepuncture and deal with high-risk samples in accordance with Trust guidelines.
Able to administer Intramuscular injections according to IPC guidelines
Ability to take responsibility of daily checks including fridge temperatures and resus emergency bag.
Able to follow IPC guidance, including cleaning of rooms, equipment and PPE wearing.
Chaperone in clinics as required
Undertake asymptomatic well check clinics.
Undertake treatment clinics via phone and face to face.
