Specialist Speech & language Therapist
Band 6 WTE 0.93 (35 hours)
£37,338- £44,962
Will consider a Band 5 Developing band 6 post dependent on candidate
This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join the Community stroke team and Community Stroke Beds. You will join at Team of 70 staff who are situated within the community stroke team and covers the Northamptonshire area. This is a substantive post of 35 hours per week.
The Northamptonshire community stroke team has delivered on robust integrated community stroke service model, as per the national guidelines, for over a decade. Northamptonshire community stroke team continues to see patients within 48 hours of discharge home for rehabilitation assessment and intensive goal based rehabilitation. Rehabilitation is completed by stroke specialist MDT, that includes Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Nurses, Rehabilitation Practitioners, Rehabilitation Assistance and Admin staff.
The Community Stroke Beds are also part of this vacancy and are part of the countywide Stroke pathway.
WTE 0.4 Community Stroke beds and WTE 0.53 Community Stroke Team .
Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will be an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with specialist knowledge of differential diagnosis associated with Stroke, including complex dysphagia and complex communication.
They will independently manage and prioritise a complex, specialist caseload of complex dysphagia and complex Stroke.
They will provide Support & leadership with the other Band 6's within the the Community Stroke beds & Community Stroke Team (CST).
They will support/mentor junior colleagues and provide expert opinions to others, including supervise, appraise and develop Band 5 and Band 4 and 3 staff and student SLTs in the team.
