We are seeking a experienced paediatric nurse who is motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Band 6 Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse.

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative, dynamic and enthusiastic registered Children's nurse who is looking to expand their knowledge and experience working with children and young people on ULHT's Children's Ward at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.

Main duties of the job

Our Children's ward provides compassionate care for Children and Young People from 0 to 16 years of age. Providing care for a mixture of specialties and for a wide range of conditions including High Dependency Care. Our PAU encompass assessment and observation of patients and day care services for our communities.

This Band 6 role will require someone who wants to develop themselves in a very supportive environment. You will need to enjoy leading a team, whilst ensuring the focus is on delivering high quality evidence-based care to the child and family. You will need to actively participate in ensuring the governance agenda is met and that the trust objectives are at the centre of everything you do. You will also have the opportunity to work across the Paediatric services within the trust.

You will need to be competent, caring and compassionate, with the proven ability to work individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidates will need to demonstrate their commitment to continuously developing professionally whilst supporting junior colleagues in an acute clinical environment.

Pilgrim Hospital is situated beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.

Qualifications

Essential

  • RSCN/ Child Branch
  • ENB 998/FLIPS
  • Safeguarding Training/Awareness
  • NMC Registration


Desirable

  • PLS/ APLS/ EPLS


Experience

Essential

  • 2 years at Band 5 within an Acute Paediatric setting
  • Team Management experience
  • Involvement in safeguarding of children


Desirable

  • Experience of high dependency care
