The postholder will:
  • work autonomously within agreed protocols to perform a range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations and provide independent diagnostic reports.
  • provide training and education to all members of the team.
  • Participate in any future 7-day service, working across all OUH sites as required.


Main duties of the job

  • You will be working autonomously and as part of team undertaking a wide range of examinations.
  • You'll autonomously perform and report ultrasound examinations to a high standard in a professional manner, working within departmental guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Diploma/BSc in Radiography
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or DMU
  • HCPC or RCT Registration


Experience:

Essential

  • Experience in non-obstetric abdominal ultrasound, gynaecological ultrasound including endovaginal scanning, and some small parts ultrasound.
  • Confidence and ability to issue own reports on examinations
  • Evidence of professional development


Special Aptitude:

Essential

  • Ability to work as a team, and independently
  • Ability to organise work load
  • Ability to self manage
  • Adaptable/flexible
  • High technical standards
  • High patient care standards
  • Good working knowledge of a range of ultrasound equipment


Disposition:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
