As a Practice Development Nurse for our bedded services you will join the CLCH Academy Team where you will be supported with your development whether this is at undergraduate or post graduate level we want to invest in your development.

This is a unique opportunity to assist our team in delivering a comprehensive education strategy, specifically tailored to meet the evolving needs of our dedicated nursing workforce.

Demonstrating a commitment to high standards of patient care and service delivery you will have a genuine desire to be a learning facilitator with a passion for practice development.

You will support and coordinate the development of Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates, Health Care Assistants by arranging educational activities and assessments of learning within the bedded units.

Main duties of the job

The Practice Development Nurse will work within their designated service working closely with the Academy team and the Locality Manager to plan, implement and evaluate the development of staff. They will work with designated teams to coordinate and embed learning and development ensuring that staff are competent and capable to undertake their roles.

The Practice Development Nurse will work with the Academy team and the Locality Manager to identify learning needs, plan and implement any training required and continuously evaluate staff competence ensuring that development is aligned to and informs local and national priorities.

The Practice Development Nurse will be expected to:

Promote high standards of care through the demonstration of clinical expertiseFacilitate the creation of a positive learning environment in the work place where staff development is encouraged and supportedFacilitate the induction, education and continuing professional development for all levels of registered and non-registered nursing staff within the Nursing TeamsWork alongside staff in individual teams undertaking a key role in practice developmentTranslate Academy priorities such as changes in nursing standards, new clinical roles such as Apprenticeships into their designated service

  • Significant senior experience within district nursing services
  • Previous experience in practice development
  • Experience in taking forward clinical and service change
  • Experience of working in a changing and uncertain environment.
  • Experience of delivering on development initiatives and leading change with individuals and teams.
  • Experience of working with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience of using evidence to inform best practice
  • Experience of engaging with patients, the public and stakeholders
  • Experience of report writing and presentation
