Due to a team member being awarded NIHR Research funding we have an opportunity for an individual to join our team for up to 18 months!

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to contribute towards our programme of research around the delivery of musculoskeletal rehabilitation. As an experienced local leader based within Enfield you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of research and evaluation activities at the MSK hub based in Enfield. You will have the opportunity to work alongside senior clinical academics to develop your skills and experience in patient facing clinical research.

You will be joining an established team of research therapists with a track record of leading clinical research activities. Whilst working with us, you will contribute towards an exciting programme of research around access to musculoskeletal services for people from deprived backgrounds.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work alongside the Advanced AHP researcher, Director of Allied Health and other colleagues to support the delivery of a program of research to evaluate new and innovative MSK pathways being delivered at our MSK Hub in Enfield. The post holder will be expected to support the development and delivery of healthcare services to enable us to deliver outstanding care to patients.

The post holder will bring expert knowledge around the social and cultural challenges people within Enfield face. The post holder will be expected to support community links and networks through excellent networking and communication across the borough. The pot holder will be expected to bridge the gap between the NHS and communities and support the recruitment of participants to clinical research studies.

There will be an opportunity for the post-holder to contribute towards further research funding and, as such, there may be opportunities for the post to be extended subject to further funding being obtained.

The post-holder will be working closely with academic partners, Improvement teams, clinical experts, research staff and students with the key aims below:

Support the delivery of the 'way-in to MSK' NIHR funded programme of research.

Support with the publication and presentation of data

Highly developed specialist knowledge of the local communities served by the Enfield MSK Hub.

Job responsibilities

You will work alongside the Advanced AHP researcher to support the delivery of a programme of research and improvement at the MSK Hub in Enfield. The key duties are split into three main areas:

Research To lead on community engagement and work with key stakeholders to support the development and delivery of programs of research To provide expert advice on local communities to carry out the way in to MSK program of work and seek expertise from others where appropriate. To be able to support the analysis of complex data and support the development of stakeholder reports in lay language is a culturally sensitive manner as appropriate To have excellent level of local knowledge to inform the project To lead and support others with your expert knowledge of the local community.

Education - To participate and provide expert advice in the delivery of teaching especially in relation to local community knowledge.

Leadership To support, on behalf of the Advanced AHP Researcher, and deputise where appropriate on community related issues Mentor colleagues within the MSK Hub with community related support and escalate issues as appropriate Act as a role model both within and outside the organization reflecting the trust values Work independently and autonomously Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, an ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines Engage in delivery of any changes and be prepared to step into unfamiliar roles in situations of crisis Ensure that departmental as well as Trust policies are adhered to.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline


Desirable

  • HCPC, RN, GMC or equivalent Registration
  • Research Education to MSc Level or equivalent research experience
  • GCP Training
  • Leadership Course


Knowlege of Enfield

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of Enfield
  • Extensive experience and Expertise of working with people from deprived backgrounds


Experience

  • Experience of public speaking
  • Experience of delivering education / teaching to groups of people

Desirable

  • Evidence of working with and developing staff from different professional disciplines
