This is an exciting opportunity to join a 20 bedded ward over 2 floors currently caring for elective post-operative colorectal patients. This includes an 8 bedded Level 1 unit for colorectal patients requiring close monitoring.
Most of the patients on the unit are being treated for colorectal cancers and chronic conditions and as a result may end up with a stoma. As a part of the colorectal team this role will also involve supporting and teaching stoma care along with the stoma nurse specialists.
We have a caring and supportive team, dedicated to the continuing delivery of safe and excellent care which is supported by our exceptional patient feedback. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic and highly motivated to join our ward leadershipteam.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse on Jubilee ward is to support the team.
You will co-ordinate the ward, ensuring that patients are receiving excellent care and continuous communication with doctors, relatives and patients.
As a leader, the deputy is expected to support the nursing team throughout the shift and manage any issues or concerns as they arise.
You will work with the supportive ward leadership team to drive forward positive change on the ward. You will have dedicated management days to complete audits, appraisals, create action plans, and investigate incidences and to develop your leadership skills.
