An exciting opportunity for a full time Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse has arisen to join Layer Marney ward.

Layer Marney Ward is a 33 bedded respiratory ward, caring for patients with acute & chronic lung conditions. It also has a dedicated acute respiratory unit, caring for patients with non-invasive ventilation, CPAP & high flow nasal oxygen therapy.

If you are a band 5 registered nurse who would like to develop in a leadership role then this would be a fantastic opportunity. Although respiratory knowledge and experience is an advantage it is not essential.

Please note there are both a permanent and a fixed term/secondment position until 31st July 2025. Internal candidates will be either be offered a permanent or secondment position only.

Main duties of the job

To effectively manage and develop a nursing team and provide professional and clinical leadership in the delivery of high quality, safe, cost effective care of patients, families and staff.

To work with nurses and other identified team members (MDT) on a one to one/group basis to develop and enhance clinical skills and practice.

To deputise for the department sister to ensure appropriate senior cover at all times.

Qualifications

  • NMC registration
  • Post registration qualification relevant to area up to post graduate diploma level
