To provide holistic care with regard to all diagnostic, interventional interventions performed within the unit.
To assist in the management of patients undergoing cardiac investigations and procedures, to ensure that the highest standard of patient care is achieved
Carry out nursing procedures and interventions as required, in accordance with Laboratory and Trust Policies.
Ensure that all relevant information regarding the patient is communicated to the other disciplines as necessary and is correctly documented as per trust policy.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard of assessment, treatment and evaluation of Individuals with coronary heart disease.
To work as a key member within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team.
To work within the NMC Code of Professional Practice, and within policies, procedures and guidelines of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
To ensure that high standards of nursing care are given and maintained, and act when standards are not being maintained.
To participate in the assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualized programs of care for patients undergoing acute and elective coronary diagnostic and percutaneous coronary interventional procedures and pacing procedures in the admission area, catheter laboratory, pacing suit and recovery unit.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our Cardiac Interventional Department. The individual should be dynamic with strong interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for caring for patients who have cardiac conditions. You will be responsible for promoting a high standard of nursing care and will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be expected to adopt a team approach to problem-solving and therefore good communication and organisational skills are essential. The successful applicant will be supported with their training and development within the team, therefore previous cardiology experience is not essential and we would welcome applicants who are newly qualified. You will be working within a friendly and supportive team who are enthusiastic and strive to deliver high quality care whilst maintaining patient safety. This means placing the patient at the centre of their care.
You will work closely within the Cardiology team to assist in the preparation of patients undergoing diagnostic coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty and pacemaker implantation. As an Angiography nurse you will be expected to perform the role of scrub nurse within the Catheter lab and Pacing suite using sterile techniques. You will also be responsible for recovering patients after a procedure on the cardiology day case ward.
