We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Nurse/ Paramedic practitioner for this developmental post within Folkestone and Deal Urgent Treatment Centres. We servethe local population and beyond and have a good reputation.You will work as part of a team providing a high standard of care to patients with a rangeof different minor injuries and minor illness through the 111 service. Candidates must beflexible and have excellent communication skills.You must have a minimum of two years post registration experience. You will be a competent Nurse/ Emergency care practitioner developing your leadership andmentorship skills. You will be able to communicate across the multidisciplinary field ofpractitioners. Experience of minor injuries/ minor illness is desirable but not essential as fulltraining and support will be provided.o You will possess good organisational skills plus the ability to work effectively underpressure.o A strong sense of teamwork and commitment to maintaining high standards of care andefficient service delivery is essential to these positions.o We are committed to your personal development and training. Car driver desirable as youmay be required to work on other sites within our service.

Main duties of the job

This is a Development post where the candidate will work on the floor learning through the course and competencies the role of Nurse / Paramedic practitioner

The post is full time but flexible hours considered. The department can be busy and diverse in an ever changing environment and we are looking for a highly motivated member, to join ourteam, who is adaptable to clinical change on a shift basis.The post will cover shift patterns at the Urgent Treatment Centre and internal rotation acrossboth Folkestone and Deal service is required.The service opening times in the Urgent treatment Centre is 8am to 8pm seven days a week.For an informal chat call Elaine Anderson or Victoria Bates on 01303 854494

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • First level registered Nurse Registered Paramedic Practitioner HPC Completion of diploma in nursing or relevant qualification Proven record of all Mandatory training Child and adult protection training


Desirable

  • Mentor training Evidence of specialist courses in minor injury/ minor illness management Will work towards study at level 3


Experience

Essential

  • The post holder will have a minimum of two years' experience as a level one nurse or paramedic


Desirable

  • Minor Injury, Minor Illness or Urgent Treatment Centre experience
  • Working towards their degree as a Nurse Practitioner/Emergency Care Practitioner


Skills

Essential

  • Competent Practitioner developing leadership and mentorship skills
  • To be able to communicate across the multidisciplinary field of practitioners


Desirable

  • Leadership skills
