The trauma and orthopaedic department at Frimley Health is home to one of the largest orthopaedic units in south east England. The large orthopaedic unit at Frimley Park Hospital is supported by over 25 orthopaedic consultants and a physio team of 14 staff.

Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Main duties of the job

  • Be responsible for a varied caseload of trauma, including spinal cord injured patient and complex multi-trauma.
  • Be responsible for the supervision & appraisal of rotational staff and students.
  • Have support and supervision from an experienced Team Leader, Clinical Lead and Principal Physiotherapist
  • Attend MDT trauma meetings weekly.
  • Contribute to the in-service training programme.
  • Contribute to service audit.
  • Participate in specific orthopaedic senior in-service training with the other orthopaedic band 6s, band 7s and 8a. This programme is designed to challenge and improve your knowledge and clinical reasoning whilst improving your presenting skills.

Experience

Essential

  • Worked as Band 5 Physiotherapist on In-patient Orthopaedics in the NHS
  • Completed Band 5 physiotherapy rotations in the NHS


Desirable

  • Experience supervising other members of staff
  • Experience supervising students


Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrates knowledge of common orthopaedic conditions


Desirable

  • Member of Orthopaedic interest group


Skills

Essential

  • Evidence of working with spinal cord injury patients
  • Completion of Rehabilitation Prescriptions & National Major Trauma Registry


Desirable

  • Completed ASIA assessments
