The purpose of this role is to prioritise the development and improvements of the Trusts System/Product. Responsible for realising the maximum value of the asset, formulating strategies, product roadmaps, managing the development backlog and defining the shared future vision and goals whilst ensuring the needs of the end users and Trust are being met and the product aligns with business goals, mission and objectives.

Working collaboratively across the Trust with colleagues, internal partners, other NHS Organisations and supplier to fulfil those requirements. Ensuring project teams understand the vision and works toward achieving it, helping project members to focus on the common objective, irrespective of their role and regularly sharing progress with all stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

In your role you will:

Be responsible for supporting the Product Owner with the strategic management and life cycle of the Trusts Systems, working collaboratively to realise the maximum value of the assets.

Work in partnership with all stakeholders and suppliers to support the development, implementation, and delivery of the product roadmap and vision.

Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, understanding requirements and managing expectations.

Make a significant difference to the operational capability for clinical and non-clinical users providing patient care.

Work within a professional, dedicated, and passionate team who are dedicated to improving IT services for users at LTHT.

Work collaboratively with technical teams to innovate and transform the service delivery function at LTHT.

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience of working on improvement or change led projects in the health sector.
  • Extensive experience and proven ability in working with services to achieve business readiness for implementation.
  • Possess a good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Advanced computer literacy and willingness to further computer skills.
  • A thorough understanding of all policies and procedures governing the Trusts approach and delivery of IT projects.
  • Extensive experience in the IT industry
  • Has substantial experience of managing an IM& T Team.
  • Has extensive direct experience in all aspects of procurement and contract management
  • Has successfully justified substantial investment in IT
  • Has secured and monitored substantial project budgets.
  • Good understanding of how to negotiate large, complex and performance related IT contracts, including all legal elements.
  • Extensive knowledge of NHS IT and Modernisation initiatives.
  • Has a thorough appreciation of the opportunities that new technology creates.
  • Preparation of organisational strategies and objectives


Desirable

  • Experience of Business Process Mapping
  • Experience of MS Office Suite including Visio and project
  • Knowledge of MS Project Experience of Business Process Mapping
  • Knowledge of health service management
  • Experience of projects that span multiple organisations Has contributed to the development of IM& T strategy and its tactical implementation.
  • Experience of working within an acute Trust.
  • Good commercial awareness and contract management experience

  • Degree or equivalent experience

  • Prince 2 Agile Leadership Qualification
  • Product Owner Qualification or equivalent experience
  • Prince 2 Practitioner qualification - or equivalent experience
