This role involves supporting the Clinical Psychologists working in a Paediatric Health Psychology service, and in particular within the Paediatric Complications of Excessive Weight Service.
This post will entail working on developing resources for families, contributing to teaching and training, working closely with clinical psychologists to support co-production in research, engaging in service evaluation from planning, design and data collection to write up. There is also the potential for direct work with children and families, to include assessment, groupwork and an appropriate level of clinical intervention.
The postholder would receive regular supervision from a qualified Clinical Psychologist, as well as opportunities to access other teaching and training offered within the department. This post will involve working across a wide multidisciplinary team of professionals within a paediatric healthcare setting.
The successful candidate will be based within our well-established Paediatric Health Psychology Team in Newcastle upon Tyne. The Paediatric Health Psychology Service is committed to child and family centred care. The Paediatric Health Psychology Team is part of the wider department of Psychology in Healthcare, enabling collaboration and support with adult psychology colleagues. There are also close links with the Doctorate Clinical Psychology course at Newcastle and Teesside Universities.

- Single honours degree (upper second class or higher) in psychology
