We are seeking a forward thinking, dynamic, and motivated individuals to work in the cardiorespiratory diagnostics service at St Bartholomew's Hospital, with regular rotation to other sites within Barts Health. The post-holder will be required to work autonomously (or will be trained, dependent on background experience) across the services.
This is also an opportunity to participate in a Quality Assurance Programme for Diagnostics.
We have a supportive environment for training and development which can include attendance at National Conferences. You will be expected to demonstrate experience consistent with this grade to support the current service and to contribute fully to the improvement and advancement of the service.
Applications from candidates who have a BSc Clinical Physiology (or equivalent) with a cardiology or respiratory specialism, or those with a relevant Exercise Science background will be considered. We welcome applications from Cardiac or Respiratory physiology, training will be offered to develop skills across the breath of cardiorespiratory specialisms.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be a key member of the non-invasive services, focusing on supporting the cardiorespiratory service.
The aim role is to support the non-invasive cardiology and lung function services within the Trust sites, there will be an opportunity to be involved in cardiopulmonary based research/audit projects. There will also be the opportunity to be involved in quality assurance within these services. Depending on background specialism, training will be provided in cardiology or respiratory to develop skills across the breath of cardiorespiratory physiology services.
The post holder will be expected to work independently and provide support to senior staff as needed, also guiding junior staff and supervising students

- BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent (BSc in Exercise Sciences / Physiology).
- Basic Life Support

- SCST certificate
- Immediate life support
- Good clinical practice
- Attendance at ARTP or other recognised CPET interpretation course
- Spirometry certificate
- Registered or working towards registration with the Academy for healthcare Science (AHCS) and/or HCPC
Experience

- Experience conducting clinical cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
- Experience conducting spirometry testing.
- Experience conducting clinical treadmill exercise tolerance testing.
- Experience of non-invasive cardiology investigations - ECG, ambulatory ECG
