An exciting opportunity has arisen for Senior Analyst Post for the Department of Sexual Health & HIV.
The Senior Analyst post will be responsible for delivering and developing the public health data requirement for the Department of Sexual Health & HIV within the EPIC system for Denmark Hill and Beckenham Beacon. These requirements are for submission of mandatory public health surveillance data, in addition NHSE data requirements and data required for the Integrated Sexual Health tariff.
The post holder will work closely with the Trust Business Intelligence team to develop, monitor and manage commissioning dashboards and reports to support the Trust and departmental strategic and transformational targets.
The post holder will be based at Denmark Hill but will hold responsibility for core information across Denmark Hill and Beckenham Beacon sites.
Main duties of the job
The post holder to work closely with the departmental operational and clinical teams and the Trust Business Intelligence Unit (BIU) in the provision of information and analysis
To lead on core information requirements which support the organisation's performance objectives and strategic direction.
To ensure robust information governance systems are in place and the service is reporting to mandatory national datasets
Will take the lead for individual projects & work streams within the department and hold responsibility for their delivery.

Job responsibilities
Information system and Data Management
To be a lead contact in addressing the Trust and departmental operational teams on analytical and reporting requirements, and advising on complex analysis requirements and reporting.
To gain a working knowledge of the Department of Sexual Health & HIV and its services, utilising your existent or acquired understanding of operational business to advise on information requirements, statutory and mandatory reporting and new measurements where appropriate.
To take responsibility for the preparation and submission of the various data reports required by the sexual health and HIV departments
To support discussion with commissioners regular analysis of GUMCAD, CTAD, HARS and SRHAD data to enable informed commissioning decisions relating to ISHS attendances, activity and STI diagnosis and contraceptive usage trends. To inform the EPIC team to make any necessary changes to IT systems as new information standards are published.
To play a pivotal role, in conjunction with the BUI and senior colleagues, in the development of new ways of presenting and visualising data to increase accessibility and immediacy to clinical and managerial colleagues within the Trust.
To develop, monitor and manage commissioning dashboards and reports to support the Trust and departmental strategic and transformational targets and implementation across the services in Denmark Hill and Beckenham Beacon.
Operational Management
To be a senior member of the department in supporting and advising both the BIU team and non-technical staff outside of the department, on complex and routine ad-hoc reporting for the trust. Leading on key areas of reporting, both internal and external (statutory).
To work with key service staff to develop knowledge of EPIC and their use by operational and clinical teams.
Participating in regular process review, feedback and systems development meetings within the BIU, ITCS team and with external stakeholders Being a link person between the teams.
To ensure the Department meets its regular reporting responsibilities within NHSE and UKHSA, and activity data is accurately coded and uploaded to the Integrated Sexual Health Tariff (Pathway Analytics) grouper.
To attend, where required, operational and clinical performance management meetings, including external commissioning performance meetings.
To work with the operational and clinical team in facilitating the expansion of the Trusts use of clinical, benchmarking and performance data and to be a pro-active user of benchmarking systems to inform current performance and future target-setting.

Essential
- Degree in mathematics, computing or other discipline with a large numeracy component
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Excellent data presentation skills, written, graphical and verbal
- Knowledge of the NHS data model including the Inpatient, Outpatient and RTT/PTL models
- The post holder requires a very high level of numeracy
- Substantial knowledge gained through analytical experience in Information Management within the NHS
- Skilled in using data query tools, spreadsheets and databases
