Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the post holder will be a key member of the People & Communications leadership team and will support the delivery of the Trust's People Plan, supporting the vision and the delivery of the Trust's strategy and objectives. As a senior leader in the People and Communications Team they will support the development and delivery of the Departmental objectives as well as ensuring the leadership and culture within the Department meets the expectation in our values.

The role will be responsible for ensuring delivery of key workforce programmes, including the OUH People Plan priorities and delivery plan. The postholder will develop regular reports to relevant Committees and the Board. The postholder will work closely with the senior People and Communications Team, the Divisional Heads of Workforce and colleagues from the Trust's Corporate Governance and Improvement teams. Working with and through our Divisional Heads of Workforce and the Assistant Directors of Workforce, the postholder will provide pro-active, value adding, strategically aligned leadership to the workforce agenda in the development and delivery of people plans to support the business goals of the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be responsible for all aspects of People & Communications Directorate governance, including risk management, Trust Board and Committee and Sub-Committee reporting, and ensuring an effective secretariat for all relevant meetings. The postholder will also ensure effective management of the Chief People Officer's office, including management of the Executive Assistant, managing and co-ordinating complaints and queries and leading key business improvement projects.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Support the Chief People Officer with the development and delivery of a strategic vision and ensure service changes meet internal and external expectations and standards.

Plan, develop and maintain the delivery of the OUH People Plan, ensuring the plan delivers or exceeds against the key metrics, working closely with the Directors, Divisional Heads of Workforce and Assistant Directors of Workforce.

Establish and lead the mechanisms to oversee the tracking of progress against all plans and milestones, ensuring appropriate processes are in place to flag issues, risks, and concerns with the relevant stakeholders.

Manage and monitor a range of additional people improvement programmes/projects, both short term and long term e.g., productivity initiatives, Joint Oxford University/OUH Office, and contribute to Trust objectives within agreed timeframes and financial targets.
