Are you looking for a role providing storage-specific technical support in a challenging yet rewarding environment, in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you to become a member of the Data Centre & Infrastructure (DC& I) Team.
Reporting initially to your Team Leader and then to your Head of Department, your role will be to play a leading role in monitoring, maintaining and managing the Trusts storage systems (primarily Powerscale, Isilon, Unity & VNX) and the physical infrastructure on which they sit, both locally and remotely. You will be expected to advise on new and emerging storage technologies and maintain an expert-level standard of awareness. You will also advise on Trust storage strategy going forward.
You may occasionally be required to deal with third party storage-related suppliers. You will also be expected to be actively involved with, and engage in, other activities across the Team, assisting colleagues as and when required.
In return, we can offer you a varied, interesting, and challenging role working as part of a fantastic Team and offering all the support you need to learn at pace, developing and adding to your skills and achieving your career ambitions.
Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Management and Technology (IM& T) Technical Support Analyst to join the Data Centre & Infrastructure (DC& I) services Team.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, service-focussed, and passionate about the delivery of high-quality IT solutions and will be expected to work flexibly to provide core service coverage between 08:00 and 18:00 (Monday to Friday), undertake emergency duties as required, and may be required to perform planned essential maintenance and upgrade tasks outside core hours.
The successful applicant will ideally be experienced in the workings of a busy IT support department and have a positive, can do attitude.
The position requires a person with well-developed analytical and communications skills coupled with the ability to establish good reliable working relationships with fellow work colleagues, third parties and end users, where appropriate. As such, a well-organised and reliable approach is required as is the capability to work under pressure and to occasionally meet strict deadlines.
The Trust, as part of the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT), is one of the major Acute Trusts in the North of England, with many outstanding and world-renowned centres of excellence. There has never been a more exciting time to join Leeds Teaching Hospital.
