We are recruiting for a Team Manager to our district nursing teams in Taunton!

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership and management of the six district nursing teams, providing services to patients in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your team and operational management skills. We are a supportive and knowledgeable team and you will have full support within this role!

Main duties of the job

You will ensure a high standard of care and treatment for patients and work with other members of the Integrated team and other agencies to best meet the patients' health and social needs.

You will play an active role in the development of services in line with the Trust's Strategy and Business Plan.

You will provide clinical support and supervision to District Nursing staff, including the Band 6 Team Leads and Clinical Leads within the team and to provide clinical leadership.

Job responsibilities

This includes:-

Responsibility for the operational management of the staff in the Team.

Undertaking workforce and skill-mix planning, and managing the allocation of the workforce with regard to operational, financial and clinical management.

Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care. To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management and to support junior staff to do likewise.

Formulating and delivering an individual treatment programme based on advanced knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment/therapeutic options, using expert clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills.

Ensuring that designated staff implement policy and service development changes.

Ensuring own professional competence and credibility, being aware of research findings, trends and developments in professional practice by maintaining a presence in clinical areas working with staff, patients, clients and carers in an advisory, teaching or support capacity.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered professional Degree level or equivalent and Registered with the NMCSpecialist Practitioner Qualification (SPQ) or willing to work towardsNon-medical prescribing (V300) or willing to work towards within agreed time scaleEvidence of continuing professional development


Desirable

  • Management qualification or specialist clinical, managerial training or equivalent


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of providing high quality effective services within resource limitsExperience of working across organisational boundaries in a health care settingDemonstrable capacity and capability for operational/clinical service management, including staff management, financial management and change management.Experience of supporting staff and developing staff members and active performance management


Additional Criteria

Essential

  • Must be a car driver with a valid driving licence or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance in order to travel throughout the Trust, to meet the needs of the service.
