Main duties of the job

Your RoleAs a Psychological Therapy Group Practitioner, you will:

Deliver Specialist Therapy: Provide group-based therapeutic interventions in the DTC and DBT Skills Groups, using your expertise to support individuals on their path to recovery.Collaborate in a Multidisciplinary Team: Work alongside clinical staff and service user consultants to uphold therapeutic integrity, ensuring service users receive the highest standard of care.Train and Mentor Clinicians: Share your expertise through teaching and mentoring other professionals, promoting best practices in working with individuals with complex emotional needs.Partner with Lived Experience Colleagues: Collaborate with service user consultants, integrating their unique insights to enhance service delivery.Develop and Promote Services: Play an active role in refining and advancing the DTC and DBT services while building relationships with external stakeholders to increase awareness and access.

Job responsibilities

Job Summary To work within a multi-disciplinary team, which include Service User Consultant (SUCs), providing a service to people with Personality Disorder or Complex needs, and to agencies working with them. To support the development, management and delivery of the both the DTC and DBT services. To support the team to undertake consultations in connections with individuals, teams and services. To support the team in developing and providing training. Main Duties & Responsibilities To work within a highly specialist psychotherapeutic multi-disciplinary team, including service user consultants (SUCs), providing group psychotherapeutic interventions to people with a Personality Disorder, and staff and agencies who work with them. To carry responsibility for the integrity of the application of therapeutic principles within the Democratic Therapeutic Community and the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Services. To liaise with care coordinators and staff working with service users, to enable appropriate application, manage ongoing therapeutic interventions including crisis management, plan discharge and preparing reports as required. To undertake consultancy and supervision to teams and organisations working with people with personality disorder. To participate in group clinical supervision and individual supervision as required.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications

Essential

• RMN Or Post-graduate qualification in Clinical psychology /psychological therapy Or Dip. Social work Or BSc (OT)
• Relevant Professional registration
• Evidence of continued professional development, especially relevant short courses

Desirable

• Training in group or individual psychotherapeutic interventions.
• Training in personality disorders
• Degree or equivalent level of training/education
• Training in working with people from culturally diverse backgrounds or good Equal Opportunities practice.

Experience

Essential

• Post qualification experience.
• Significant experience of group work.
• Significant experience of working with service users with diagnosis of 'personality disorders'
• Provision of specialised supervision/consultation to other staff.
• Provision of training to other staff.
• Experience of working within a close therapeutic team.
• Collaborative working with key stakeholders
• Experience of Clinical supervision

Desirable

• Psychotherapeutic group work within a residential or day therapeutic community.
• Experience of psychotherapeutic clinical work.
• Experience of working with Service User Consultants
• Experience of working within Secondary Care Mental Health Service.
