We are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for Band 5 nurses with a passion for respiratory medicine the opportunity to join us at St Bartholomew's on a specialist respiratory ward. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants with respiratory experience, however nurses with limited experience and from other clinical backgrounds will be supported to develop in the role.
St Bartholomew's Hospital is an internationally renowned teaching hospital in the City of London, close to St Paul's cathedral. The hospital is a centre of excellence, offering state-of-the-art treatments for a range of specialist respiratory, cardiac and thoracic conditions.As a specialist centre much of our work has continued during the pandemic, we continue to treat largely non covid-19 related conditions and providing specialist services.
This exciting position will offer you the opportunity to develop you nursing career and gain experience within a specialist respiratory unit. Our experienced team of educators and senior nurses are able to provide you with guidance and suggestion to help you maximise your experience and learning.
Ward 4D& E provide specialist respiratory care to patients with a wide range of complex conditions including COPD, cystic fibrosis, asthma and bronchiectasis. You will have the opportunity to learn and understand the disease pathophysiology, treatments and interventions including non-invasive ventilation treatment.

The aim of this post is to provide direct patient care and enhance the well-being of patients by developing specific clinical competencies and enhancing knowledge through a lifelong learning approach.
