Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the mental health services in Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) as the band 7 highly specialist practitioner for Eating Disorders which is an ageless service for both those under the age of 18 and those 18 years and above. This specialist clinical post is an integral role in PTHB to fulfil the health board's responsibilities in respect of Welsh Government's Eating Disorders Framework for Wales. This post will provide a specialist advice and guidance to ensure the optimal translation of strategic intent through operational drivers into clinical practice. A key responsibility of the role is to support the development and delivery of protocols and pathways of care that will ensure that the standards described in the 'Eating Disorders Framework for Wales' are embedded in the services delivered PTHB for people with an eating disorder and their carers.The post holder will provide a specialist lead service to Tier 1 and 2 adult mental health across the adult mental health range. The post holder will ensure that transition from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to adult services and all interface services including acute medical admissions are managed safely and therepeutically.They will undertake joint work with Tier 1, 2 and 3 professionals and deliver clinical services to Tier 2 adult mental health services in the community and provide supervision, training and development opportunities to clinicians.
