We are looking for a Nurse ready to work at a Band 6 level and with a passion for providing a standard of care that can really change young people's lives.
  • The Unit is in a position through the South West Provider Collaborative to offer further training of which could include; DBT for Adolescents, Non-Violent Resistance, and Positive Behavioural Support, providing valuable transferable skills.
  • We can offer support in gaining clinical and management experience that looks to future career development in in-patient and Community CAMHS settings.

Main duties of the job

Supporting young people with severe and complex Mental Health difficulties through individual, group, and family settings.

Taking on the role of a clinical lead within the Unit to ensure the highest standard of care for young people.

You will oversee more junior members of the Nursing Team and assist in the maintenance and development of clinical standards, as well as .

You will work closely with the Unit MDT and support the Ward Manager in the effective running of the Unit.

Job description Job responsibilities

Supporting young people with severe and complex Mental Health difficulties; individual 1:1 work; group work; management of crisis incidents; writing care plans, risk assessments management plans; keeping documentation up to date; medication management; shift co-ordination; delegation of appropriate tasks to more junior members of the team; care co-ordinating, arranging CPAs and documentation and overseeing care of a young person; supervision of HCAs; attending and chairing meetings such as CPAs and MDT as necessary; liaison with wider MDT; accurate documentation of care; giving accurate handovers; management of more junior members of staff; attending supervision in individual and group forms; being responsible for the safe running of any shift as the Nurse-in-Charge, including maintenance of a safe environment; oversight of clinical standards; management of sickness/annual leave/rosters; development of group programme; development of clinical audits.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Registered Nurse (Mental Health, Children, Learning Disability, Adult)
Personal Essential
  • An understanding of the importance of self-awareness and how one's own experiences may impact upon one's attitudes and interactions.
  • An ability to manage and contain stress individually and within the team.
Experience Essential
  • Experience of working in an inpatient or community setting.
skills Essential
  • Ability to form and maintain boundaried working relationships with service users.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Ability to take a leadership role in the Nursing Team.
  • Ability to assess the needs of service users including risk and develop management plans.
  • Ability to manage and oversee the work of more junior members of staff.
  • Ability to lead the team in challenging situations.
  • Ability to provide clinical leadership within the Nursing team, to maintain standards, and provide clinical supervision for more junior members of staff.
Knowledge Essential
  • Sound knowledge of Nursing Processes.
  • Knowledge of the legal frameworks.
Desirable
  • Mentoring Qualification.
