Advancing care provision in a digital age is key to enabling better outcomes and we are therefore looking to strengthen our senior digital leadership through a new and exciting CNIO role.

Reporting to our Group Chief Strategy and Digital Officer and professionally accountable to our Group Chief Nursing Officer, our new CNIO, will advocate for the huge and ever-growing opportunities associated with digitisation of clinical pathways and will help foster our vision for digital transformation of health and care into our clinical communities including:

*Digital Healthcare projects associated with the Trust's in-house Electronic Medical Record (EMR) as part of the Digital Health Programme

*Working collaboratively across nursing and AHP teams, Digital Healthcare and IT Services to review and optimise the technology footprint across the organisation to deliver the best user experience to deliver effective patient care

*Working with user groups to continuously improve adoption practices and standardise best practice across all hospital sites and settings.

Main duties of the job

As CNIO you will pioneer new ways of working innovating and transforming clinical pathways to ensure services are using technology to support and improve:

*Patient outcomes and efficiency

*Clinical quality and safety

*Integrated care across partners and commissioners

*Accessible information across the local health economy and the wider NHS

*Digital empowerment of patients, citizens and our staff

*Benefits realisation of digital initiatives -- qualitative and quantitative

Your ability to bring together aspirational objectives, translating these into deliverable programmes and plans that stakeholders can understand will help make a difference to patients in and across Birmingham and Solihull.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • *Healthcare professional Master's degree qualification or equivalent.
  • *Management or leadership qualification or equivalent experience
  • *Recognised qualification in Informatics
  • *Current clinical registration RN or equivalent.
  • *Evidence of continuing professional development


Desirable

  • *Qualified Clinical Safety Officer. DCB 160 (responsible for signing off the safety of Digital Health Systems when they are implemented, upgraded or retired).
  • *Recognised teaching/assessing qualification


Experience

Essential

  • *Significant experience of working in a senior nurse leadership role.
  • *Knowledge and understanding of clinical workflow in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • *Demonstrable senior financial management experience for large and complex IT projects ensuring good prudence and accountability.
  • *Successful influencer and negotiator.
  • *Experience working in a nursing/midwifery digital role.
  • *Experience of working with an electronic patient record and associated digital systems.
  • *Experience of working within and across multi-professional environments / teams.
  • *Experience of engaging staff in improvement initiatives at scale and overcoming barriers to implementation
  • *Experience of dealing with resistance to change and overcoming barriers to effective delivery.
  • *Experience of working together with others to create and deliver the best outcomes.
  • *Experience of leading Improvement projects
  • *Research and audit experience


Desirable

  • *Experience of working in a range of different clinical settings.
  • *Service improvement experience
  • *Experience in leading digital transformation and deliver
