We are looking for a HCPC Registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Aspen Clinic (Cygnet Healthcare). Aspen Clinic is a 16 bed hospital specialising in the treatment and rehabilitation of women inpatients detained because they are a risk to themselves. Patients usually have the diagnoses of personality disorder, complex developmental trauma/abuse and/or autism. Cygnet Healthcare have been providing a national network of high quality specialist services for over 30 years. In this role youll have the chance to make a real impact on patients and their lives.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a compassionate Psychologist with a relentlessly positive approach to support and enhance the psychological care of patients in Aspen Clinic by working with the Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Psychologist. You will be joining our team on a part time, 32hour per week basis working across 4 days.

We are looking for a HCPC Registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team atAspen Clinic (Cygnet Healthcare).

The work of the Aspen Clinic Psychologist includes:
  • Leads the DBT team to deliver the full DBT programme (training provided)
  • Developing and updating START risk assessments
  • Individual therapy with inpatients
  • Administration and scoring of psychological tests and assessments
  • Co-produce formulations with patients
  • Writing reports
  • Attending and contributing to MDT meetings
  • Participation in regular supervision.

Were looking for someone who has:
  • Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS)
  • Post graduate doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996)
  • Registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist (or in final year of doctorate training)
  • A minimum of 12 months experience in a hospital setting
  • Enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Prior knowledge or experience of DBT, and willingness to train if no qualification
  • Good IT skills.
