BAND 6 Occupational Therapist Oncology Team - LRI Permanent Position - Full time position
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 6 Occupational Therapists to join our established team of therapists who provide a service to our medical wards based at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General hospital.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of the wider multidisciplinary team working on the oncology and hematology assessing and treating patients with a variety of clinical conditions.
You will assess and treat patients referred to the service, with an aim to facilitate discharge from the acute setting as efficiently and effectively as possible. You will ensure excellent communication with patients, their relatives and carers.
You will have support to develop both your clinical and leadership skills from our Macmillan Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist and Clinical Team Leader.

We have a supportive team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. You will receive regular supervision and appraisal to promote personal development. You will be actively encouraged to be involved in service development, audit and research. There will be the opportunity to support and supervise other staff, as well as provide practice placements for Occupational Therapy students. There is a structured in-service training programme in place within the team which you will be encouraged to be involved with.
We provide a seven day service and have a roster system to cover weekend working and bank holidays.
