At ELFT, we provide community health, mental health and primary care services to a population of around 1.8million across, Bedfordshire, Luton, and East London (Tower Hamlets, Newham and City & Hackney).

We are looking to recruit Permanent Staff Nurses to join services in Acute Admissions, Older People, Child & Adolescent, Rehabilitation Services, and Mother & Baby Psychiatric Unit. As a Staff Nurse, you will be working with a wide range of multi-disciplinary team ensuring defined and person care planning care for our services users is implemented and promotes recovery.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead in the planning, implementation and evaluation of group and individualised nursing care using where possible, evidence-based practice.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with patients, families/carers and the multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.

  • Take and record patient observations as required.
  • Assist with patients' personal care.
  • To promptly report all observed change in service user conditions, accidents, incidents and other important information and take action as directed

Person Specification Education/ Qualification/ Training Essential
  • Registered Nurse (Mental Health) OR Registered Nurse (Learning Difficulty) OR Registered Nurse (Adult)
Experience Essential
  • Working with people with mental health problems/ learning disabilities
  • Managing challenging and aggressive behaviour
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Experience of providing individualized and culturally sensitive care
Knowledge/Skills Essential
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care
  • Able to manage time so that deadlines are met
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of risk management and how to plan care to account for risk
Desirable
  • Current Developments in nursing
  • Awareness of supervision and reflective practices
